Pommac is a classic Swedish soft drink introduced in 1919 by Anders Lindahl, who founded Fructus Fabriker in Stockholm. The beverage is crafted from a blend of fruits and berries, with its unique flavor developed through a three-month maturation process in oak barrels. The name 'Pommac' is derived from 'Pomm' (referencing the French champagne brand Pommery) and 'ac' (inspired by the cognac-style aging process). Initially designed as a non-alcoholic alternative to wine for the upper classes, Pommac has become a popular choice for festive occasions in Sweden and Finland. In 2004, Carlsberg Sverige AB, a subsidiary of the Danish multinational Carlsberg Group, acquired the brand. Despite plans to discontinue Pommac due to declining sales, public demand led to its continued production. Today, Pommac is produced primarily in Sweden, with additional production in Finland, and remains a beloved beverage in both countries.
