Sinalco is a historic German beverage brand that carries the distinction of being the oldest soft drink brand in Europe, founded in 1902. Initially created as 'Bilz-Brause' by Franz Hartmann and Eduard Bilz, it was renamed Sinalco (short for the Latin 'sine alcohole' or 'without alcohol') in 1905. The brand became a global icon, recognized by its distinctive red circle logo.
Today, the brand is owned by the Hövelmann family's beverage group (Deutsche Sinalco GmbH Markengetränke & Co. KG), based in Duisburg, Germany. While the essence of the brand remains German with local production for the domestic market, Sinalco is manufactured in over 40 countries through a licensing system, making its manufacturing presence truly international. The ultimate owner is the German family-owned enterprise Hövelmann.
