Originally famous for its high-quality soaps, it received the prestigious title of Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden in 1876. The Barntvål (Children's Soap) is a staple household product known for its mild, moisturizing properties designed for sensitive skin.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Swedish heritage and was founded by Johan Wilhelm Holmström in Stockholm, it has undergone several ownership changes over the decades. Today, the brand is owned by the German multinational Henkel. Although the brand maintains its Nordic identity and strong presence in the Swedish market, production is typically spread across various Henkel manufacturing facilities within Europe to optimize logistical distribution.
