Aesop is an Australian luxury cosmetics brand founded in 1987 by Dennis Paphitis in Melbourne. The brand offers a range of skincare, haircare, fragrance, and homeware products, known for their minimalist packaging and high-quality botanical ingredients. Aesop's unique store designs, often developed in collaboration with various architects and designers, reflect the brand's commitment to aesthetics and functionality. In 2012, Aesop sold a 65% stake to Brazilian cosmetics company Natura Cosméticos, which acquired full ownership in 2016. In August 2023, L'Oréal completed the acquisition of Aesop, integrating it into its Luxury Division. Despite these changes in ownership, Aesop continues to operate under its original brand name, maintaining its distinct identity in the luxury beauty market.
