GORE-TEX Fabric

GORE-TEX is a trademarked fabric membrane developed by W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., an American company founded in 1958. The company is renowned for its innovation in fluoropolymer products, with GORE-TEX being one of its most significant developments. Introduced in 1969, GORE-TEX fabric is designed to be waterproof, windproof, and breathable, making it ideal for outdoor clothing and gear. The fabric is composed of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), a stretched form of PTFE, which allows water vapor to pass through while blocking liquid water.
