König Pilsener Beer

König Pilsener, often referred to as 'König', is one of Germany's most popular premium pilsner brands. The brewery was founded by Theodor König in 1858 in Beeck, which is now a district of Duisburg. The brand is renowned for its adherence to the German Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot), using high-quality hops from the Hallertau region nearby.

Over the decades, the brewery established itself as a leader in the premium beer segment. In 2004, the brewery was acquired by the Bitburger Group, one of the largest private brewery groups in Germany. Today, all production remains centered at the original site in Duisburg-Beeck, maintaining a strong local heritage while benefiting from the Bitburger Group's extensive distribution network across Europe and international markets.
