Giesinger Bräu is a Munich-based brewery that produces a variety of traditional German beers, including Märzen, Helles, and Weißbier. Their Märzen beer is a full-bodied, bottom-fermented lager with an alcohol content of 5.7%. It is characterized by a strong initial taste, followed by a slight hop bitterness, and offers nutty and caramel aromas. Originally, Märzen beers were brewed to last through the warmer months when brewing was not possible due to lack of cooling, but today, Giesinger Bräu's Märzen is available year-round. The brewery was founded in 2006 in the Untergiesing district of Munich by Steffen Marx and Tobias Weber. They started by creating various spiced and fruit beers, and by 2007, their production had reached 300 hectoliters. The demand continued to grow, and by 2011, they produced 1,000 hectoliters. To accommodate this growth, they expanded to a new, modern brewery capable of producing up to 12,000 hectoliters of beer annually. Giesinger Bräu is now one of Munich's largest private breweries and is notable for being the first new brewery in the city in over 200 years.
