La Vaca que Ríe, known as The Laughing Cow in English, is a French brand of processed cheese produced by Groupe Bel. Launched in 1921, it has become a global brand, sold in over 90 countries. The cheese is a blend of cream that is pasteurized to halt the maturation process, resulting in a versatile and portable product. Traditionally, it is sold in triangular portions wrapped in foil, but it is also available in cube or rectangular forms and as a spreadable cheese. The brand offers various flavors, including original, light, and ultra-light versions, as well as flavors like ham, gruyère, garlic, pepper, mushroom, goat cheese, blue cheese, hazelnut, pizza, and onion. The distinctive logo features a smiling cow with a white muzzle and earrings made from cheese wedges, making it easily recognizable. The brand's history dates back to 1921 when Léon Bel registered the trademark in France, and the current logo was designed by illustrator Benjamin Rabier in 1924. Over the years, the brand has evolved, introducing new flavors and product forms to cater to diverse consumer preferences.
