Kas is a popular brand of soft drinks originally created in Spain. It was founded in Vitoria, Basque Country, in 1956 by the Knörr brothers, who evolved the brand from their family's El As brewery. The soda is particularly famous for its intense fruit flavors, especially its orange and lemon varieties which contain a higher juice percentage compared to many competitors.
Historically, Kas became a household name across Spain and Portugal, famously associated with major sponsorship deals in cycling during the 1960s and 80s. In 1991, the brand was acquired by PepsiCo. Today, Kas remains a staple in the Spanish market, produced primarily in local facilities within Spain to serve the Iberian Peninsula and parts of Southern Europe and Latin America under PepsiCo's extensive beverage portfolio.
