Nabob is a Canadian coffee brand established in 1896 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The name 'Nabob' refers to a term for a wealthy man who made his fortune in the Orient during the British colonial era. Initially, Nabob's coffee was processed and packaged by Kelly Douglas Limited. In 1976, the brand was acquired by the German firm Jacobs, which expanded its presence across Canada. By 1986, Nabob was available nationwide, with Quebec being the last province to receive the brand. In 1994, Nabob was purchased by Kraft Foods, which later merged with Heinz to form Kraft Heinz. Today, Nabob continues to offer a variety of coffee blends, including dark and medium roasts, and has partnered with the Rainforest Alliance to promote sustainable coffee production. The brand maintains a strong presence in the Canadian market, with manufacturing facilities in Montreal, Quebec, and offices across the country.
