Falcon is one of Sweden's most iconic beer brands, with its roots tracing back to 1896 when brewery master John L. Skantze founded Bryggeri AB Falken in Falkenberg. The name 'Falcon' was chosen as an international version of 'Falken' (The Falcon) to facilitate export and brand identity.
Over the decades, the brewery became a significant part of the Swedish beer market. In the 1990s, the company was acquired by the Danish brewing giant Carlsberg Group. Today, Falcon is no longer produced in the original Falkenberg brewery (which has since closed), but production continues at the Carlsberg brewery in Falkenberg for certain specific labels or primarily at Carlsberg Sverige's main brewery in Falkenberg and/or Bromma/Falkenberg facilities.
As of the current market landscape leading into 2026, the brand remains under the ultimate ownership of Carlsberg Group, ensuring its legacy as a staple Swedish lager while benefiting from the distribution network of a global beverage leader.
