The brewery's history dates back to 1631, when a soldier named 'der schlappe Seppel' (the lame Seppel) brewed the first beer for King Gustav II Adolphus during the Thirty Years' War. Today, the brewery continues to produce a variety of beers under the Schlappe Seppel brand, including the Helles lager, which is known for its mild and refreshing taste.
