Eastpak Backpack

Eastpak began its journey in 1952 as Eastern Canvas Products, Inc., initially producing durable gear like duffel bags and packs for the US Army. The brand's trajectory changed in 1976 when Mark Goldman joined his father’s company and noticed college students using military bags for their books. This led to the launch of the first collection for consumers, transforming the brand into a lifestyle icon known for its 'Built to Resist' philosophy and its famous 30-year warranty.

Today, Eastpak is a global leader in the backpack and travel gear market, recognized for its iconic Padded Pak'r design and numerous high-fashion collaborations. While the brand has American roots, it has since become part of a large international portfolio. Most manufacturing is outsourced to specialized facilities in Asia, including countries like Vietnam and Bangladesh, to maintain high production standards and global distribution efficiency.

Since 2000, Eastpak has been owned by the American apparel giant VF Corporation. This ownership has allowed the brand to expand its presence across Europe and Asia, transitioning from its utilitarian military origins into a fashion-forward brand that blends durability with modern urban style.
