Pepsodent Toothpaste

Pepsodent is an American-origin brand of toothpaste with a minty flavor derived from sassafras. The brand was originally owned by the Pepsodent Company of Chicago, founded in 1915 by Douglas Smith. It was later acquired by Unilever in 1944.

Today, the brand's production and distribution are divided between major global conglomerates. While Unilever remains the ultimate owner and manufacturer of Pepsodent in many international markets (including Europe and Asia), the rights to the brand in the United States and Canada were acquired by Church & Dwight in 2003. Manufacturing occurs in multiple locations depending on the region of sale, often produced in regional facilities to serve local markets.
