Jaffa is a world-renowned brand of citrus fruit, particularly the seedless ‘Shamouti’ orange discovered in the 19th century near the ancient port city of Jaffa. Originally cultivated by Palestinian farmers, the fruit became a major export success due to its thick skin and sweet flavor, making it ideals for long-distance shipping.

Following the 1948 war, the brand became a central pillar of the Israeli economy and was managed by the Citrus Marketing Board of Israel. To maintain global market presence throughout the year, the brand name is now licensed to producers in other countries, including Spain and South Africa, though it remains inseparable from its historical Mediterranean origins.
