Carling Original Lager

Carling is a lager beer brand with origins dating back to 1840 in London, Ontario, Canada, when Thomas Carling founded the Carling Brewery. The brewery initially focused on ale production but began brewing lager-style beers in the 1870s. In 1927, Carling rebranded its Black & White Lager to Black Label. The company underwent several mergers and acquisitions, including being purchased by Canadian Breweries Limited (CBL) in 1930 and later merging with Molson Brewery in 1989. In 2005, Molson merged with Coors to form Molson Coors Beverage Company, which now owns the Carling brand. Carling is brewed in Burton-on-Trent, United Kingdom, using 100% British barley, and is the UK's number one lager. The beer is known for its balanced taste, combining sweetness and bitterness, and is available in various markets, including the United Kingdom, Canada, and South Africa. Carling has a rich history of sponsorships in sports and music, including being the title sponsor of the English Premier League from 1993 to 2001 and sponsoring the Reading and Leeds festivals between 1998 and 2007.
