Dempster's Hamburger Buns

Dempster's is one of Canada's most recognizable bakery brands, with a history dating back to 1890 when William Dempster opened his first bakery in Toronto. Over the decades, it became a household staple, known for a wide variety of sliced breads, buns, and bagels. The brand is deeply ingrained in Canadian consumer culture, often emphasizing the use of Canadian-grown wheat.

While the brand has humble Canadian roots, its ownership has transitioned through several corporate hands. Today, Dempster's is owned by Grupo Bimbo, a Mexican multinational food company that is the largest bakery firm in the world. Grupo Bimbo acquired the brand in 2014 when it purchased Canada Bread from Maple Leaf Foods. Despite the international ownership, the products continue to be manufactured primarily within Canada to serve the local market using regional bakeries.
