Stork is a heritage brand established in 1920, originally created to offer a high-quality margarine alternative for home baking in the United Kingdom. Its long-standing association with 'fluffy cakes' has made it a staple in British kitchens for over a century, particularly as a preferred substitute for butter in sponge recipes.
While the brand was born within the Van den Berghs business (later part of Unilever), it transitioned to new ownership in recent years. In 2018, Unilever sold its global spreads business to the private equity firm KKR, which established Upfield as the new parent company. Today, Stork remains a flagship product under Upfield's portfolio, continuing its legacy as a major household name in the margarine and spreads sector.
