MobilePay

MobilePay is a mobile payment application that originated in Denmark in 2013, developed by Danske Bank A/S. It allows users to make payments via smartphones, facilitating peer-to-peer transfers, in-store purchases, online shopping, and bill payments. In 2022, MobilePay merged with Vipps AS, a Norwegian mobile payment service, to form Vipps MobilePay AS, headquartered in Oslo, Norway. This merger aimed to create a leading Nordic mobile payment provider, combining the strengths of both services. As a result, MobilePay continues to operate under its brand name in Denmark and Finland, while Vipps operates in Norway and Sweden. The ultimate owner of the MobilePay brand is Vipps MobilePay AS, a company formed by the merger of Vipps AS and MobilePay Denmark A/S, headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
