Schenker, originally founded as Schenker & Co. in Vienna, Austria, in 1872 by Gottfried Schenker, is a global logistics company offering services in air, land, sea freight, and contract logistics. In 2003, Schenker became a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn, Germany's national railway operator. In September 2024, DSV A/S, a Danish transport and logistics company, agreed to acquire Schenker from Deutsche Bahn for €14.3 billion, aiming to create the largest global logistics provider. The acquisition was finalized on April 30, 2025, making Schenker a part of DSV's extensive logistics network. Schenker operates in over 130 countries, employing more than 71,100 people at over 1,850 locations, serving both global and local firms across various industries.
