Reebok is a renowned athletic footwear and apparel brand established in 1958 in Bolton, England, as a companion company to J.W. Foster and Sons, a sporting goods company founded in 1895. The name 'Reebok' is derived from the Afrikaans word for the grey rhebok, a type of African antelope. Over the years, Reebok has been recognized for its innovative products, such as the Reebok Freestyle fitness sneaker introduced in 1982, which gained popularity through endorsements from fitness icons like Jane Fonda. In 2005, Reebok was acquired by the German sporting goods company Adidas, and in 2021, it was sold to Authentic Brands Group, a U.S.-based brand development company. Reebok's global headquarters are located in Boston, Massachusetts, in the Seaport District. The brand continues to produce a wide range of athletic footwear and apparel, with manufacturing facilities in multiple countries to meet global demand.
