Smirnoff Vodka

Smirnoff is the world's best-selling vodka, with a history that began in Moscow in 1864 when Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov established his distillery. The brand revolutionized the industry by using charcoal filtration to produce a cleaner, smoother spirit, eventually becoming the preferred vodka of the Russian Tsars.

Following the Russian Revolution, the family fled and re-established the brand in Europe and later North America, where it played a pivotal role in the popularization of cocktail culture, most notably through the creation of the Moscow Mule. Today, while it retains its Russian heritage in name and legacy, the brand has no remaining ties to Russia.

Now owned by the British multinational alcohol giant Diageo, Smirnoff is produced in numerous countries to serve global markets. Key production hubs include the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy, and India, ensuring its availability as a staple in bars and homes worldwide.
