Tony's Chocolonely is a Dutch confectionery brand founded in 2005 by journalist Teun van de Keuken (Tony) with a mission to eliminate modern slavery and illegal child labour from the cocoa supply chain. The brand's products are widely known for their unevenly divided chocolate bar segments, which represent the inequality in the cocoa industry.
While the brand originated in the Netherlands, the manufacturing takes place primarily in Belgium at Alprose and Barry Callebaut facilities, utilizing cocoa beans sourced following Fairtrade standards. The brand is currently majority-owned by Verlinvest, an investment company based in Belgium, alongside other stakeholders including JamJar Investments and the company's own management team. The brand continues to focus on ethical sourcing and advocacy for '100% slave-free' chocolate.
