Waze is a mobile navigation application that provides real-time traffic updates and turn-by-turn directions, utilizing crowdsourced data from its user community. Originally developed in Israel by Waze Mobile Ltd, the app was acquired by Google in June 2013 for $1.3 billion. Despite the acquisition, Waze continues to operate as a separate entity within Google, maintaining its brand identity and development team in Israel. The app is available in over 50 languages and is used by millions of drivers worldwide. In 2021, Neha Parikh, formerly President of Hotwire within the Expedia Group, was appointed as the CEO of Waze, leading the company's strategic direction and growth initiatives.
