Ray-Ban is a globally recognized brand of luxury sunglasses and eyeglasses, originally founded in 1936 by the American company Bausch & Lomb. The brand was initially developed for military use, specifically to protect pilots' eyes from the sun's glare, leading to the creation of the iconic 'Aviator' style. Since then, it has become a cultural icon through models like the Original Wayfarer.

In 1999, the brand was acquired by the Italian company Luxottica, which later merged with the French lens giant Essilor to form EssilorLuxottica. Today, Ray-Ban products are manufactured primarily in Italy and China. The brand continues to innovate through partnerships with technology companies, such as the Meta collaboration for smart glasses, maintaining its position as a leader in the global eyewear market.
