Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur

Kahlúa is a world-renowned coffee liqueur originally established in 1936 in Veracruz, Mexico. Its name is derived from the Veracruz Nahuatl language, meaning 'House of the Acolhua people.' The product is famously crafted using high-quality Arabica coffee beans grown in Mexico, combined with rum and sugar to create its signature rich flavor profile used in cocktails like the White Russian and Espresso Martini.

Over the decades, the brand underwent several ownership changes, moving from its original producer, Pedro Domecq, to Allied Lyons (becoming Allied Domecq). In 2005, the brand was acquired by the French spirits giant Pernod Ricard. While it is a global mainstay, the production remains tied to its heritage in Veracruz, Mexico, where the coffee beans are sourced and the liqueur is distilled and bottled.
