The brand has a history dating back to 1856 when Max Hermann Pfanner purchased the 'Gasthaus Hirschen' in Lauterach, Austria, which included a small brewery and distillery. Over the generations, the family transitioned from alcohol production to non-alcoholic fruit juices, becoming a pioneer in the European juice and iced tea industry.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Austria, its manufacturing operations are international. Pfanner maintains five primary production sites located in Lauterach and Enns (Austria), Hamburg (Germany), Policoro (Italy), and Bar (Ukraine). The orange juice itself is often sourced from concentrate utilizing sun-ripened oranges from regions such as Brazil.
