Cloetta KEX Choklad

Kex Choklad is one of Sweden's most iconic and beloved confectionery products, known for its layers of crispy wafers filled with chocolate and coated in smooth milk chocolate. Originally launched in 1938 by the company Chokladfabriks Aktiebolaget Ljung, it was renamed Kex Choklad shortly after and has since become a staple of Swedish 'fika' culture and a popular snack for outdoor activities like skiing.

The Cloetta brand itself has a heritage dating back to 1862, when Swiss brothers Bernhard, Christoph, and Nutin Cloëtta established a steam chocolate factory in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company expanded into Sweden in 1873, eventually moving its main production to Ljungsbro in 1901. Throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries, the brand underwent various mergers, including a notable period as Cloetta Fazer, before emerging as an independent public company again in 2008. Today, Cloetta AB remains a leading confectionery company in Northern Europe.

While the product is deeply rooted in Swedish identity and its primary manufacturing facility is in Ljungsbro, Sweden, Cloetta operates multiple production units across Europe (including Slovakia and the Netherlands) to serve its international markets.
