Camel is one of the world's most iconic tobacco brands, originally introduced by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1913. It revolutionized the industry by being one of the first brands to sell pre-rolled cigarettes in a pack. The brand is famous for its Turkish-American tobacco blend and the 'Old Joe' dromedary camel logo.

Today, the ownership of Camel is divided geographically. In the United States, the brand remains under the ownership of Reynolds American, which is a subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT). Internationally, outside of the U.S., the brand was sold to Japan Tobacco International (JTI) in 1999. Manufacturing takes place in numerous facilities worldwide, including the United States, Germany, and various JTI plants in Europe and Asia, depending on the target market.
