Becherovka Herbal Liqueur

Becherovka is a world-renowned Czech herbal liqueur with a history dating back to 1807. It was created by Josef Vít Becher in Karlovy Vary, initially as a medicinal stomach tonic. The recipe remains a closely guarded secret, known to only a few people at any given time, involving a mixture of over 20 herbs and spices combined with soft local water.

Throughout its history, the brand transitioned from a family-run pharmacy venture to a state-owned enterprise during the socialist era, and was eventually privatized. In early 2024, the ownership officially transitioned from the French conglomerate Pernod Ricard to the Polish group Maspex. Despite changes in global ownership, production remains centralized in its historical home of Karlovy Vary to ensure the authenticity and quality of the product.
