Dr. Pepper soft drink

Dr. Pepper is one of the oldest major soft drink brands in the United States, having been created in 1885 by pharmacist Charles Alderton in Waco, Texas. Throughout the 20th century, the brand established itself as a unique 'pepper-style' carbonated beverage that differs from traditional colas.

Today, the ownership and manufacturing of Dr. Pepper are complex due to historical licensing agreements and corporate mergers. In North America, the brand is owned by Keurig Dr Pepper. However, in Europe and many other international markets, the brand rights are held by The Coca-Cola Company. Consequently, the product is manufactured in numerous countries across the globe by various bottling partners depending on the regional distributor.

In 2018, Dr Pepper Snapple Group merged with Keurig Green Mountain to form Keurig Dr Pepper, consolidating its presence in the beverage market. The company remains headquartered in the United States, managing its vast portfolio of soft drinks, juices, and coffee products.
