Pripps is one of Sweden's oldest and most iconic beer brands, with its history dating back to 1828 when Johan Albrecht Pripp founded the brewery in Gothenburg. The brand is best known for 'Pripps Blå,' which has become a staple of Swedish beer culture since its introduction in 1959.
Historically, the company merged with Bryggeri AB Falken to become Pripps Bryggerier and was once a dominant force in the Swedish beverage market under various owners, including the Swedish state and later Volvo. In 2000, Pripps merged with the Norwegian group Orkla to form Carlsberg Breweries, and by 2004, the Danish brewing giant Carlsberg Group took full ownership. Today, Pripps products, especially for the Swedish market, are primarily manufactured at the Carlsberg brewery in Falkenberg, Sweden.
