Freixenet is a renowned Spanish producer of sparkling wines, particularly cava, established in 1914 in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Catalonia. The brand originated from the union of two winemaking families: the Ferrers and the Salas. Over the years, Freixenet has become the world's largest exporter of cava, with a significant presence in over 150 countries. In 2018, Freixenet entered into a strategic alliance with Henkell & Co. Sektkellerei, a German company founded in 1832, which led to the formation of Henkell Freixenet, the world's leading sparkling wine producer. This partnership has allowed Freixenet to expand its global reach and product offerings. The brand is celebrated for its iconic products like Cordon Negro and Carta Nevada, and it continues to innovate with new releases such as Freixenet ICE and Freixenet Prosecco DOC. Despite its international expansion, Freixenet maintains its roots in Spain, with production facilities primarily in the Penedès region, while also producing in other locations to meet global demand.
