Tuborg Classic is a pioneering Vienna Lager-style beer first introduced in 1993 to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Tuborg brewery. It is characterized by its dark color, slightly complex roasted malt flavor, and pleasant sweetness, making it a staple of the Danish beer market.
Originally founded in 1873 by Philip Heyman and C.F. Tietgen in Hellerup, near Copenhagen, Tuborg transitioned from an independent brewery into a legal partnership with its former rival, Carlsberg, through a profit-sharing agreement in 1903. This culminated in a full merger in 1970, which brought the brand under the ultimate control of the Carlsberg Group.
While the brand's heart remains in Denmark, where it is primarily brewed at the Fredericia Brewery as of 2026, Tuborg is a global powerhouse produced in over 70 countries. Local production hubs exist in major markets including Turkey, India, Nepal, and France, ensuring the beer is fresh and accessible to its target young adult demographic across Asia and Europe.
