GB Glace is the largest ice cream company in Sweden, founded in 1942 as Glace-Bolaget. The company was established by merging Mjölkcentralen's ice cream department and Choklad-Thule, and it became known as GB Glace in 1991. In 1985, Unilever acquired a majority stake in GB Glace, and by 1996, it became a wholly owned subsidiary. GB Glace produces a wide range of ice cream products, including popular items like Piggelin, a pear-flavored popsicle, and Sandwich, an ice cream sandwich made with soft chocolate chip cookies. The company's manufacturing facilities are primarily located in Flen, Sweden, but production also occurs in other locations. Unilever, headquartered in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, is the ultimate owner of GB Glace, and there are no known local subsidiaries owning the brand.
