Punica Fruit Juice

Punica is a German fruit juice brand that was first introduced in 1977 by Punica Getränke GmbH. The brand gained popularity in the 1980s and 1990s with its distinctive 'Punica Oasis' advertising campaign, positioning itself as a refreshing beverage for the entire family. In 2005, PepsiCo acquired Punica Getränke GmbH, thereby adding Punica to its portfolio. However, in 2022, PepsiCo sold the majority of its juice division, including Punica, to the financial investor PAI Partners. This led to the formation of the Tropical Brands Group, a joint venture aimed at managing and revitalizing beverage brands in Europe. After reviewing strategic priorities, the Tropical Brands Group decided to withdraw Punica from the market, with production ceasing in September 2022. Despite this, Punica remains a notable example of German beverage history, reflecting the evolution of brand ownership and market dynamics in the beverage industry.
