Kockens is a well-established Swedish brand specializing in spices and seasoning products. Founded in 1916, the brand has been a leading innovator in the Swedish spice market since the 1950s. In April 2024, Kockens AB merged with Culinar Sverige AB, resulting in the discontinuation of Kockens AB as a separate entity. The development and focus on the Kockens and Lailas brands are now managed within Culinar Sverige AB. This strategic move aims to create a more streamlined structure, consolidating expertise to enhance the company's offerings and services across various sectors, including industry, retail, restaurants, and large-scale kitchens. Both companies are part of the Lyckeby Group, which is owned by Sveriges Stärkelseproducenter Förening, an economic association with approximately 400 farmer members/owners. The group has about 500 employees. The merger was implemented on September 1, 2024. The Kockens brand continues to offer a wide range of spices, seasonings, potato flour, and gluten-free baking products, serving both the Nordic retail market and the foodservice industry. The products are primarily manufactured in Sweden, with some production also taking place in other locations. The brand is committed to sustainability, offering organic and Fairtrade-certified products, and has introduced Rainforest Alliance certified black pepper. The spices and other ingredients are sourced from around the world, with packaging that indicates the country of origin to provide transparency to consumers.
