Winston is one of the world's most recognizable cigarette brands, originally introduced by the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1954 in the United States. Named after Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the brand quickly rose to popularity, becoming the best-selling cigarette in the U.S. during the 1960s and 70s.

The brand's ownership is split internationally. While ITG Brands (a subsidiary of Imperial Brands) manages Winston in the United States, the international rights—including the Polish market shown in the image—are owned and operated by Japan Tobacco International (JTI).

Manufacturing for the European market is heavily concentrated in specialized facilities. In Poland, JTI operates a significant production hub in Stary Gostków, which is one of the company's largest and most modern factories globally, supplying both the local market and exporting to over 70 countries. The packaging features mandatory health warnings in Polish, typical of tobacco products sold within the European Union.
