Walter Stöhrer Artworks

Walter Stöhrer was a German painter born in Stuttgart in 1937. He studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe and was influenced by HAP Grieshaber. Stöhrer's works are characterized by a balance between abstraction and figuration, often inspired by literature. He received numerous awards, including the German Art Prize of the Youth in 1962 and the Berlin Art Prize in 1976. His art is represented in various collections, including the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. Stöhrer's legacy is preserved by the Walter Stöhrer Foundation in Scholderup, which manages his estate and collaborates with institutions like the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart to showcase his works. He passed away in 2000 in Scholderup, Germany.
