Sanex is a well-established personal care brand that focuses on dermatological skin health. Originally founded in Spain in 1984 by the company Cruellas, it was developed as one of the first shower gels formulated specifically for skin protection, moving away from traditional soap bars.
The brand has undergone several ownership changes over the decades. It was acquired by the consumer goods giant Unilever and later sold to Colgate-Palmolive in 2011 as part of a significant asset swap. Today, Sanex is a staple in the European personal care market, known for its hypoallergenic formulations and prebiotic complexes designed to support the skin's natural microbiome. While manufacturing takes place in various European facilities to serve local markets, the brand remains under the stewardship of the American multinational Colgate-Palmolive.
