Bauknecht is a historic German brand founded in 1919 by Gottlob Bauknecht. Originally starting as an electrotechnical workshop in Neckartenzlingen, it evolved into one of Europe's leading manufacturers of household appliances. The brand built a strong reputation for innovation, particularly in kitchen and laundry technology.

Today, the manufacturing of Bauknecht products takes place across a global network of factories. While the brand carries a strong German heritage, most production has shifted to larger industrial hubs in Europe and Asia to optimize supply chains. Whirlpool Corporation acquired the brand in 1989, integrating it into its global portfolio. In recent years, ownership has transitioned as Whirlpool Corporation merged its European operations with those of Arçelik to form Beko Europe. This new entity now manages the brand, focusing on high-efficiency and smart-home enabled appliances.
