Bowmore 12 Year Old Enigma is a single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Bowmore Distillery in Scotland. The distillery was established in 1779 and is one of the oldest on the Isle of Islay. In 1994, Bowmore Distillery was acquired by Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd, a subsidiary of Suntory Holdings Limited, a Japanese multinational brewing and distilling company headquartered in Osaka, Japan. The Enigma expression is a 12-year-old whisky with a higher proportion of sherry-matured malt, resulting in a sweeter profile that complements Bowmore's signature peaty smokiness.
