Salomon is a French brand specializing in outdoor sports equipment, founded in 1947 by François Salomon in Annecy, France. Initially focusing on ski equipment, the company expanded its product range to include trail running, hiking, climbing, and snowboarding gear. In 1997, Salomon was acquired by Adidas, and in 2005, it was sold to the Finnish company Amer Sports Corporation. Amer Sports, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, owns several other brands, including Wilson and Atomic. In 2019, Amer Sports became a subsidiary of the Chinese retail conglomerate Anta Sports. Salomon's products are manufactured in multiple countries worldwide, reflecting its global production strategy.
