Old Bay Seasoning

Old Bay Seasoning was originally created in 1939 by Gustav Brunn, a German-Jewish immigrant, in Baltimore, Maryland. The seasoning blend was named after the Old Bay Line, a passenger ship line that operated in the Chesapeake Bay area. In 1989, McCormick & Company acquired the Baltimore Spice Company, thereby becoming the ultimate owner of the Old Bay brand. McCormick & Company is headquartered in the United States and is renowned for its extensive range of spices and seasoning products.
