Marabou is a Swedish chocolate brand that originated in 1916 as a subsidiary of the Norwegian company Freia. The brand was named after the Marabou stork, which was the trademark for Freia. In 1990, Freia acquired Marabou, and in 1993, Freia Marabou was purchased by Kraft Foods, which later became Mondelez International. Today, Marabou is produced in multiple countries and is one of Sweden's most beloved chocolate brands.
