Daim is a iconic Swedish chocolate bar made from crunchy almond butter toffee covered in milk chocolate. The brand was originally created by Marabou in Sweden in the 1950s after the company was inspired by the American Heath bar. It quickly became a staple of Scandinavian confectionery and expanded across Europe and the globe.
Today, the brand is owned by the American multinational conglomerate Mondelez International. While the primary manufacturing facility remains in Upplands Väsby, Sweden, the products are distributed worldwide. Its ownership transition followed the acquisition of the Marabou brand by Kraft Foods (which later split its snack business into Mondelez). The brand is famous for its unique crunchy texture and is frequently found in international retailers like IKEA.
