Sony Group Corporation, originally established as Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo in 1946, is a Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The company operates in various sectors, including electronics, gaming, entertainment, and financial services. As of 2020, Sony is the world's largest manufacturer of CMOS image sensors, and its PlayStation gaming consoles are among the most popular worldwide. The company is publicly traded, with shares listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and other international markets. In 2022, Sony and Honda Motor Company established a joint venture, Sony Honda Mobility, to produce battery electric vehicles under the brand name Afeela, with plans to deliver the first cars to customers in North America in spring 2026.
