Today, JBL operates as a core brand within the Harman International portfolio. While the brand remains headquartered in the United States and maintains significant research and development facilities in the San Fernando Valley, California, its manufacturing is highly globalized. Production takes place in multiple locations including China, Mexico, India, Hungary, and Germany to meet worldwide demand and optimize supply chains.

Since 2017, JBL has been ultimately owned by Samsung Electronics, following their $8 billion acquisition of Harman International. This partnership has integrated JBL's acoustic engineering with Samsung's global distribution and digital technology expertise. Under Samsung's ownership, the brand continues to lead the market in portable Bluetooth speakers, headphones, and connected automotive sound systems.
