Medion is a prominent German technology brand that has become a staple in the European consumer electronics market. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Essen, Germany, the company initially made its mark by specializing in personal computers and notebooks. Over the decades, it expanded its portfolio significantly to include a diverse range of products, including smart TVs, household appliances, and gaming hardware under the sub-brand Erazer. Medion is particularly well-known for its long-standing strategic partnership with the retail giant Aldi, where its products are frequently sold under both the Medion and Tevion labels.

While the brand maintains its design, engineering, and administrative roots in Germany, its ownership underwent a major shift in 2011 when the Chinese multinational tech giant Lenovo Group acquired a majority stake. In 2025, Lenovo completed the full acquisition of all remaining shares, delisting the company and making it a wholly-owned subsidiary. Consequently, while product development and regional management are based in Essen, the manufacturing is largely centralized in China to leverage Lenovo's global supply chain and industrial infrastructure.
