Toblerone is a Swiss chocolate brand known for its distinctive triangular shape and unique combination of milk chocolate, honey, and almond nougat. The brand was created in 1908 by Theodor Tobler and his cousin Emil Baumann in Bern, Switzerland. In 1970, Tobler merged with Suchard to form Interfood, which later became Jacobs Suchard. In 1990, Jacobs Suchard was acquired by Kraft Foods, which rebranded as Mondelez International in 2012. The production of Toblerone has expanded over the years; while it was originally produced exclusively in Bern, Switzerland, production has also taken place in other countries, including Slovakia. The brand is now owned by Mondelez International, headquartered in the United States. Notably, Toblerone has been associated with air travel and duty-free retail, often being sold in airports and considered a travel souvenir. The brand has also been involved in various product changes and adaptations over the years, including modifications to its shape and size in response to market demands and production considerations.
